ABOUT US

BioTerra is an industrial compost plant and manufacturer of a line of 100% natural potting mixes, fertilizers, insecticides and other products for agricultural use. Currently the company recycles more than 15,000 tons of organic waste per year, utilizing a process known as “Aerobically Controlled Composting” that is certified by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) and therefore it’s compost is permitted for use in organic agriculture. BioTerra offers to local industries a holistic waste management service (from logistics & waste collection to final treatment) and to farmers, the possibility to grow with top quality, environmentally friendly products. In summary, BioTerra’s objective is to promote “conscious agriculture,” taking action today to protect the soil and bodies of water, so we ensure a healthy world for us and future generations.

BioTerra chooses to use the words “Conscious Agriculture” to describe it’s strong belief in organic agriculture. A “Conscious Agriculture” suggests that we need to change our way of thinking about how to grow food, choosing sustainable methods that do not degrade soils, and avoid the exchange of soil fertility for short-term benefits. BioTerra was born out of this philosophy, and is therefore dedicated to develop only products that promote soil fertility, which in turn ensures the healthy and prosperous growth of crops and plants with greater nutritive value. BioTerra’s products were developed utilizing experience collected over years of investigation about the soil, microorganisms & their relationship with soil fertility, and crop & plant growth. The raw materials utilized during the manufacturing process are carefully selected, measured and monitored to ensure a high quality, consistent product. In BioTerra’s laboratory, the analysis’s realized throughout the production process ensure that our products are free from undesirable microorganisms, toxins and weed seedlings. The analysis specifically used in BioTerra are: pH (actual & potential), nitrites, nitrates, ammonium, microbiological respiration index, temperature, conductivity, sulfites, Humus Formation Index, and microbiological count.
